Raised face flanges are mainly used under mild medium conditions, such as low-pressure non-purified compressed air and low-pressure circulating water. Also used under the conditions that the medium temperature and pressure are not high but the medium corrosive is strong. When the corrosive of medium is strong, the flange that contacts the medium part (flanged short joint) should be high-grade corrosion resistance materials, such as stainless steel and other materials, and the external material can be low grade materials, such as carbon steel flange ring to clamped it for sealing.

Raised face flange is not convex flange(male flange). It should be matched with raised face flange. It belongs face flange and marked with “RF”. While convex flange(male flange) should be matched with female flange, commonly know as”one male, one female”, marked with “M”. There is anti-slip ring in RF flange, isn’t in M flange. The pressure surface of M/FM flange is better than RF. Many people think they are the same by mistake that causes a loss. Please figure them out.
